Easy and Quick NYE Smoky Eye with NEUTROGENA

I take 15-20 minutes MAX in the morning to get my hair and makeup done. If I can't finish it in that time, hair goes into a ponytail, and a quick swipe of mascara goes on. I don't have the time or patience to take an hour to do my makeup. That's what's so awesome about NEUTROGENA's products. First, they're easy to get at your local Walmart, and second, they have all the colors and products I need to get a great NYE smoky eye look in LESS than 10 minutes.
I'm going to show you how to use NEUTROGENA products purchased at your local Walmart to get the perfect smoky eye look for New Year's Eve. You want to start with a blank slate. You can put on your foundation, concealer, and whatever else before you start. Just make sure you leave the eyes and lips clean.
The next step is to put on your NEUTROGENA Nourishing Eyeliner. I do eyeliner first so I can get it really close to the lash line. In addition, I don't have to worry about not making a perfect line as it can be easily cleaned up. For this look, the thicker and darker the better. It's best to have it thicker toward the outer corner of your eye, and taper in toward the inner corner. This eyeliner is great because it comes with a smudge stick at one end. You can easily round out your eyeliner line and smudge it into the lash line. I use this eyeliner in brushed pewter.
Next you want to put on your NEUTROGENA Healthy Volume Mascara. I prefer waterproof mascara as my eyes are watery and my makeup will run if I don't. The mascara increases the fullness of your lashes by 400%! I have short, blonde, thin lashes, so I can use all the help I can get! This mascara has helps to moisturize, protect, and improve the condition of your lashes by using the olive, meadowfoam seed, and sweet almond oil in it. The color I am using is Carbon Black for a dramatic look.
Next step is to apply the NEUTROGENA Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built-In Primer. What's great about this product is that with the primer built in, it prevents creasing as well as leaving rich and nourishing color for up to 12 hours. This is great for those of us who can't take the time to put on separate primer or eye cream. Just use it and go! There are four different color per palette. The palette I chose is Cocoa Mauve, as it matches best with my skin tone and hair color. For the step-by-step instructions below, I will refer to the colors on the palette from the first being the top-most and the fourth being the bottom-most eyeshadow.
The key to a great smoky eyeshadow look is that right above the outermost corner of your eye should be the darkest point. It blends out from there. That gives the illusion of longer and darker lashes.
- First, make a sideways "v" shape along your upper lash line and the brow bone with the darkest color in your palette (in this case it is the fourth shadow).
- The next color blends into the v shape and over the rest of your eyelid still under the brow bone.
- The lightest shade (the second shade in the palette) is used to highlight the inner corner of your eye and right underneath your brow.
- The first shade on the palette (and last you will use) you will brush on your bottom lash line.
Do one last swipe of mascara to get a more dramatic look and to cover up any eyeshadow powder that fell onto your lashes. The finishing touch will be your NEUTROGENA MoistureSmooth Color Stick. This lip stick makes your lips softer and smoother in just 3 days without having anything on them. They have mango and shea butter in them to continuously condition your lips which is something you need in winter! In addition, they taste and smell great, so your midnight kiss will be even better!! The color I am using is Warm Caramel.
And there you have it! The perfect NYE smoky eye in under 10 minutes. Depending on how fast you work and how many prep products you use, this could even be done in 5 minutes.
