Everlane Bridge Sandal Review
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I have decided to try to do more reviews on the blog as opposed to just ootds, so I wanted to start with Everlane's newest sandal: The Bridge Sandal. If you are not familiar with Everlane, they're a clothing company that sells the best basics at pretty good prices. They're very transparent about their pricing, but that means that their items rarely go on sale. Their items are high quality, though, so most of the time the price is worth it.
I got an email the day that the Bridge Sandal dropped and immediately went to put it in my shopping cart. I mentioned previously how I really don't have many sandals in my wardrobe, and these are so versatile that I thought they were perfect. When they arrived I was so excited to try them on, but it actually wasn't love at first fit.
I broke up the review into 4 sections so you can read my thoughts on each aspect of the shoe.
Look: Obviously I thought they look cute, otherwise I wouldn't have purchased them! However, they're not the most flattering to the foot, if that makes sense. It's the equivalent of a piece looking amazing on the model or the rack, but not so much when you put it on. I have very narrow feet and for some reason my feet just don't look their best when I wear these. I love how they look from my angle up above, but then I look in a mirror and don't feel the same. I still haven't decided if that'd be a deal breaker for me.
Fit: I feel as if the person designing these shoes wanted them to look amazing, but didn't really consider how they would fit on a person's foot. The fit is just a little... off. I am a true 7 shoe, and these are just a teeny bit too small. The inside of the shoe rubs slightly on my foot where I can foresee a blister forming after a few hours of wear. I feel like sizing up to a 7.5 would make me love the fit a lot more.
Quality: The quality of these are very, very high. The leather is gorgeous and the color is a great, natural tan. I am never unimpressed with Everlane when it comes to the quality of their items. There aren't stray threads or glue showing, and it is very clean and looks well made.
Comfort: Anther disappointing part about these sandals. They really aren't all that comfortable. They have a pretty inner sole, so I constantly feel like my toes are gripping to stay on. They do have a textured heel but that's not enough to make you feel steady. The inner soles aren't really contoured to the foot so it feels a little flat on top of that. It's not uncomfortable, but I definitely wouldn't categorize them as comfy.
Overall, I would rate these a 6/10. I still haven't worn them out anywhere because I'm unsure if I'm going to keep them. The price is $88, so not too bad. I would say the price is fair considering the quality. If you squirm at the idea of $88 sandals, then I would definitely not recommend these to you haha. I would recommend trying them if you love an easy, versatile sandal and I hope they end up fitting your feet better than mine! Have you tried them? What do you think?
