The Best Warm and Fashionable Puffer Coats and Parkas
I have always hated puffer coats. They make me look (and feel) like a marshmallow and quite honestly, I was always able to find warm enough coats that weren't puffers to keep cozy. Though growing up in Michigan and living in the Midwest, sometimes you just need the down, waterproof, snow coats. It's hard to enjoy outdoor activities when you're cold and wet, and if you tried to walk around campus in college without one you'd get frostbite. Luckily, I have noticed that there has been an influx of fashionable puffers coming out! I have tried my fair share, plus some, and I want to share with you the best winter coats out there (that are still cute)! On a budget? All options are under at least $300, if not cheaper. If you have any other good recommendations share them in the comments!
Bernardo Packable Down & Primaloft Coat
This is my favorite coat from this year. I love that it comes in petite sizing, and the rose gold hardware is a luxurious touch. Bernardo is a brand I only heard of this year, but I am loving their fashionable options at affordable prices (most are under $100-150), and they have feminine colors to choose from like blush and light blue. Get this one I love here!
Gap 2-in-1 Quilted Parka
This is one of my most-worn coats! I actually have the version from last year (which you can see on me here), but it's the perfect size, length, warmth, and price! You can easily snag it for under $100 with the online promos Gap always has, and it comes in a few basic colors like navy, olive, and khaki. Get it here!
The North Face Arctic Parka
Another parka I have used and loved (even throughout our winter adventure in Iceland)! You can see it on me here. This was the first down parka I ever liked that didn't look too poofy for me, and it doesn't have stitching that makes it look like a marshmallow. I love how the hood is detachable, too! You honestly can't go wrong with North Face coats - they are well made and designed to be as warm as possible. Get this one here, and shop other good options here.
J Crew Chateau Parka
Not into down jackets but still want a cute coat? Enter the Chateau Parka. A cult favorite, it's seen on almost every blogger out there, for a reason! It is a wool parka to keep you looking your best, that also keeps you nice and warm. Win win? Get it here, with more colors here!
Patagonia Down Shirt Jacket
Patagonia is another go-to brand for warm-weather gear like The North Face is. I love this jacket because it's thin enough to fit under more "traditional" coats, so you don't have to sacrifice any style for warmth! It's also packable, making it great for traveling or camping. Get it here.
Abercrombie 3-in-1 Faux Shearling Lined Parka
I love the 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 coats because you basically get multiple layers of coats for one price. These coats are designed so you can shed layers depending on how warm or cold it is. Great for those of you who are in areas with varying temps or like to have it all-in-one! They also have one without a shearling lining, if you prefer that! You can get the shearling one here.
Marmot Montreal Down Parka
If a wool parka or wearing a down coat under your current coat still won't for you, then a full-on down parka is the way to go. This one by Marmot is super warm and still chic. The cut is feminine and the stitching has a flattering pattern. Plus, some colors have a pretty sheen to them! Get it here.
