I wanted to introduce you all to my new project.

I wanted to introduce you all to my new project.
She’s here!!
There are some gifts I will always love no matter how old I get, like gift cards or candles, but this year there are some specific things in mind that I would love to get.
I have never been one to get into the spirit of New Years Resolutions. They never work and quite honestly, are vapid and empty promises to myself that taper down after a month or two. My husband recently brought up the idea of doing End of Year Resolutions instead, and it makes so much more sense to me!
I can’t believe I’m only just posting our gender announcement! We have known for a couple months now what we’re having and I think it makes it feel much more real. We already have a name picked out and have just finished up the registry too, building the anticipation and excitement even more!
We’ve got some big news!!
have said it before and I'll say it again: Iceland is one of my favorite places on earth. It's a magical wonderland where you can't help but pull your camera out every 5 feet. My husband and I recently went back for a second time this past December, and it has now become the trip to beat for us.
Wow, it sure has been a while since I’ve posted here on the blog! And even on social media I have been more absent... This break was unplanned but honestly probably expected. Starting last year, Maggie à la Mode slowly morphed from a fun side hobby to do in my spare time, into a regimented job that took up all my time. It took me a while to uncover why - I love my blog and the opportunity to share what I love with the world, but my passion had simply slipped away.
Getting to visit Iceland is a dream. Getting to visit twice, and have the opportunity to roadtrip around the entirety of the Ring Road was the trip of a lifetime, but there were a few things I wish I had known ahead of time. They added unnecessary stress and conflict that could have been easily avoided.
To celebrate the best posts of the year, I thought I'd do something different and instead of my favorites from 2017 (you can see all my favorites here), I thought I'd do yours! The most popular posts from each month are below, and one of them is actually the most popular post of all on the blog!
It's rare to find someone nowadays without a smart phone. They are almost essential to daily life now, and I know I'm not the only one that feels naked without it! I always like to change up my phone case every once in a while based on a my mood or the time of year. That's why a phone case by CaseApp is the perfect gift for anyone!
Yes, Thanksgiving was yesterday, but I can still be thankful! Nate and I often reflect on how fortunate and supported we are and are so grateful for that fact.
I'm sure you all have felt that way before: Instagram engagement sucks, it feels like I'm losing followers more than gaining, my blog hasn't really grown at all in like 2 years, I'm tired of trying to keep up with all my social accounts and promote my blog and write and take photos and be current. I have this great vision in my head of what I want my posts and feeds to look be, but I'm never there and I never know why.
Nate and I didn't take a lot of photos while on our Christmas vacation, mainly due to being on the beach or in the water all day long, but one thing we were excited to capture was photos of our trip to Mayan ruins!
I've shared with you the Norway leg of our trip, and now onto Iceland! This was by far my favorite part of what we did and saw.
